September 5, 2010 - Fifteenth Sunday after Pentecost
Jeremiah 18:1-11 God is the potter; we are the clay. Psalm 139:1-6, 13-18 God has searched me and known me. Philemon 1-21 Paul, while in prison, pleads for Philemon to take back Onesimus, his runaway slave. Luke 14:25-33 Teaching the large crowds, Jesus tells them they must give up their possessions if they wish to follow him.
September 12, 2010 - Sixteenth Sunday after Pentecost Jeremiah 4:11-12, 22-28
God proclaims judgment on God's foolish people. Psalm 14 The foolish say there is no God and live in destructive ways. 1 Timothy 1:12-17 Christ came to save sinners. Luke 15:1-10 Jesus shares the parables of the lost coin and the lost sheep to explain his friendship with sinners.
September 19, 2010 - Seventeenth Sunday after Pentecost Jeremiah 8: 18 - 9:1
Jeremiah laments for Judah, who has gone to worshiping graven images.

September 26, 2010 - Eighteenth Sunday after Pentecost Jeremiah 32: 1-3a, 6-15 Jeremiah purchased property from his cousin as the Babylonians laid siege to Jerusalem with the hope that God would one day restore the people to the land. Psalm 91:1-6, 14-16 God will raise you up on eagle's wings. 1 Timothy 6:6-19 The allure of riches and wealth. We enter the world with nothing and leave with nothing. Luke 16: 19-31:19-31 The parable of the rich man and Lazarus.
