Hosea 5:15-6:6
The prophet Hosea tells the truth to Israel about its waywardness and calls
them back to God.
Psalm 33: 1-12
A meditation upon ?God's word and God's eyes.
Romans 4:13-25
Paul tells the Roman church that Abraham was made right through his faith,
not his adherence to the law.
Matthew 9:9-13, 18-26
Jesus calls Matthew to be a disciple and later, heals a woman suffering from
a hemorrhage.
June 15 (Father's Day) 5th Sunday after Pentecost
Genesis 18:1-15
Abraham and Sarah provide hospitality to three strangers by the Oaks of
Mamre.
Psalm 116: 1,2, 12-19
A song of thanksgiving. The writer is grateful for the graciousness and
righteousness of God.
Romans 5:1-8
God proves his love for us in that while we were sinners, Christ died for
us.
Matthew 9:35-10:8
The harvest is plentiful, the laborers are few. Jesus sends out the 12
disciples.
June 22 6th Sunday after Pentecost
Jeremiah 20:7-13
Jeremiah complains to God after being persecuted. He concludes his lament
with praise to God.
Psalm 86: 1-10, 16-17
An individual lament; trouble has dawned for the psalmist, and he/she prays
for mercy and strength.
Romans 6:1b-11
Because we are united with Christ,we have new life and freedom from sin.
Matthew 10:24-39
Jesus warns disciples of the difficulty they will experience working with
him.
June 29 7th Sunday after Pentecost
Genesis 22: 1-14
Abraham is asked to sacrifice Issac, but before doing so, God provides a ram
as an offering.
Psalm 13
This psalm is considered the perfect example of an individual lament or
complaint.
Romans 6: 12-23
Paul urges Christians in Rome to offer themselves as an offering to God.
Matthew 10: 40-42
Jesus asks disciples to practice the ministry of hospitality, welcoming
ordinary everyday people in his name.
