- Mission Trip Planned For Red Bird Mission
Ashland is sponsoring a mission trip to the Red Bird Mission from September 14-20, 2008.
Ashland is looking for those willing to serve, especially those with general construction skills. We will also need those willing to paint, aid in clean-up, etc.
For those physically unable to participate in the work camp experience for health reasons, but would like to participate in other volunteer
opportunities at Red Bird Mission, such as drivers, community store workers, cooks, etc., please contact Debra Keough at 730-4869 or visit Red Bird's web page:
The deadline for sign-up is June 1, 2008.
Red Bird Mission is a non-profit agency of the United Methodist Church
located in the Appalachian mountains of Southeastern Kentucky where they provide educational, health, and community outreach ministries to area low-income residents.

Here are some of the UMVIM trips scheduled by our conference this 2008.
1. In June, Robin Landers and Howard Agnew will lead a team of 16 to
Zimbabwe to Old Mutare Mission Centre to do work in the hospital, support the HIV/AIDS respite center and document the water initiative - 2 reservoirs
will provide much needed water to the people at the hospital, the orphanage
and neighborhing village. Contact Howard Agnew if interested 756-6342.
2. July trip to Bolivia for construction work - Contact Rev. Tony Rowell at
788-1858.
